In  the modern world of today with its fast paced urban life. Children are losing their natural play space, along with their natural skills and abilities of play through social interactions.

Skills which an earlier generation took for granted, like climbing trees, sliding down steep grassy mounds and rough and tumble horseplay.Even street play pastimes like ad hoc football games, chase, hide outs and den building activities, are fast becoming a thing of the past.

Even the traditional playground rhymes and chants are being lost today in our modern world of technology.

Today a great many children spend the majority of their leisure time indoors, or in vehicles, being driven to school. Prefering to play on their mobiles, bluetooth and watching tv or playing video games in place of more active pursuits.

We have created a world of fear based on our over reaction to safety issues and danger strangers. The modern child now has to contend with an obese lifestyle, through lack of exercise resulting in an unhealthy lifestyle.

All of this is a tragic move away from our forefathers times, when children played naturally on the playing fields and recreation grounds and wastelands. Eagerly taking every available opportunity to play with friends and peers.

We must therefor encourage our children to meet the challenges of life for their future by encouraging their involvement in playtime activities.

Wether in the school playground, at home, or in the wider community.

This website was created and designed to bring these concerns to the forefront.

To promote childrens play in all its varied forms and formats wether voluntary or statutory provision.

We hope you will enjoy your journey through its pages and support our efforts.
