MY POETRY FOR CHILDREN
THE CIRCUS
I'm off to join the circus the marquee is in town come bring along your kids n playmates love to have you round
The ponies prancing in the ring the trapeze artistes all there's clowns and magicians here were ginna have a ball
The ringmasters a friend of mine the bearded lady too the fortune telling rose Marie the chimps and hoops and hats there's lots of jazzy music here the band begins to play the big parade is in the town tonight hip hip hip hooray
The posters on the windows the billboards tell the tale the midgets n the strong man the show is on the heath bring along your mum and Gran don't forget your teeth
The children laugh and chase the clowns the joker is in tow there's tickets for sale along the way so don't forget to go just turn up for the show.

Fairy tales of story books verse of pure delight childhoods romantic fantasy's days of golden light
Rainbows in the sky above wishing wells and fun children out exploring life stories on the run
Days and nights in dreamland castles and a moat pirates of the seven seas galleons all afloat
Knights in shining Armour dragons being slain story's told to children every now and then
Rabbits talking logic wonderland and more Enid blyton picture books treasure washed up on the shore
Cowboys chasing Indians horses and unicorns flying through the sky rockets to the moon great big ships that fly
Carousel dreams and roundabouts stories of the sea travels of the author told to you and me.
